Chelsea Dandrea headshot Music Teacher Guild

Hello! My name is Chelsea Dandrea, and I am a music educator of 9 years. I received my Bachelors in Music Education from Eastern Kentucky University and my Masters in Music Curriculum and Instruction from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

I have spent my years in education teaching in small schools and have experience in Preschool, General Music, Band, Choir, Music Technology, and Music Theory. My primary instrument is piano, and I spent 3 years teaching lessons in a private studio before moving to the small town where I teach.

I am passionate about music education, especially for Preschool aged children. I love seeing young students turn into musical young adults. I also enjoy encouraging new and aspiring music educators as they begin their journey into teaching, providing support and assistance wherever needed.

  • I believe in whole brain teaching, and using both parts of the brain at the same time when possible. In my classroom, we use a lot of movement to match what we are learning, and we play games often. We also use a lot of echoing, call and response, and repetition. There is very little down time to allow for student behaviors, and I do my best to keep students actively engaged in our learning.
